How do I get the best possible price for my rental?

Vanderlust UK use a unique Flex Rates system that rewards 5% discount on bookings made 12 weeks in advance and paid in full. To take advantage of these rates, it is important that your planning is done well in advance of the travel dates and that your Vanderlust campervan booking is made as early as possible. If your dates are flexible you may also be able to take advantage of the cheaper rates that apply at certain times throughout High/Mid/Low seasons.

What's included in my Vanderlust UK campervan?

When you get your Vanderlust campervan you'll find a gas stove, fridge and sink, 4 berth LWB campervans include a shower and toilet which on LWB models is internal. We supply kitchen equipment including crockery, cutlery, frying pan, sauce pans. All you need to bring are your board shorts, selk bag or onesie, favourite duvet, pillow and your sense of adventure. If you'd prefer not to bring your sleeping gear, that's cool, we also offer a Personal Kit for hire (towel, pillow, pillow case, duvet, bed sheet), as well as an extensive range of additional items, including outdoor tables & chairs, an awning, baby & booster seat. We suggest that you pack your belongings into soft bags instead of suitcases as they take up less room and can easily fit into the storage compartments below and above the beds.

Do I need a special licence to drive my Vanderlust UK campervan?

All you need to drive your Vanderlust UK campervan is a full resident country driver's licence held for at least one year and clean. If you licence is not in an English format, we also need to see a valid International Drivers Licence.

How old do I need to be to drive my Vanderlust campervan?

Drivers must be 25 years of age or over. If you are over the age of 75 years, a medical certificate is required.

What is the minimum rental duration?

Yes, 3 days.

Can I 'meet & greet” & 'drop off” my Vanderlust UK campervan at the airport / railway station?

Yes at Bournemouth Airport / Railway station (FREE)

Yes at Southampton Airport (extra £30 per handover). However straight from Southampton Airport Terminal to Bournemouth railway station is only 35mins on South West Trains.

What time can I pick up and drop off my Vanderlust UK campervan?

Our aim is to be flexible as possible but to be fare to you and those after wards we try to keep a simple matrix.

If we have no previous booking we can allow earlier pick up and possible later drop off’s if no following booking. This we will advise a few days before or at time of meet & greet if there is an option to be flexible to give you more time on your last day of rental.

Do I have to pay for more than one driver?

First driver is insured in the cost of rental, second driver is additional. (Max 2 drivers)

Can a baby seat be fitted to any of your campervans?

Yes, baby and booster seats can be supplied with the Vanderlust campervan. We offer these for hire if you need one however you will be responsible for fitting. Vanderlust UK can’t fit any child or booster seat as that has to be fitted/completed by the hiring party.

Can I pull up and camp on the side of the road in our Vanderlust campervan?

You can 'free camp' outside of towns and in country areas. Most National Trust Parks have areas set aside for camping like in the New Forest. If your trip is about going further afield across Europe especially Ireland & France there is endless places to free camp and enjoy your freedom on the road. If visiting our HQ in Ireland there is caravan parks in all major tourist centres and in most towns. Our Ireland partner campsites offer excellent recreational facilities, as well as resources to dispose of your waste water. They also have provision for you to plug the vehicle into electricity. How long does the battery system last?

Vanderlust campervans have two batteries - one to run the engine and the other to operate the living equipment such as the fridge and lights. This battery will remain charged for approximately 10 hours. If you flatten it you can start the engine to recharge.
